This gentle practice is inspired by ancient Chinese body-tapping wisdom, sometimes known as Seven Star Tapping. Using soft, rhythmic touch, we invite the body to release held tension, support natural energy flow, and return to balance. Like stars forming a constellation, small points of awareness work together, allowing harmony to arise through rhythm, presence, and care. There’s nothing to achieve—simply listen and let the body respond. Music by Mykola Odnoroh

Welcome.

Take a moment to arrive exactly as you are.

There's nothing to achieve here and nothing to do perfectly.

This is simply an invitation to rest your attention in your body and to meet yourself with kindness.

This practice is inspired by ancient Chinese body wisdom,

Where rhythm and gentle touch were understood as ways of restoring harmony,

Not by force,

But through listening.

It's sometimes called seven-star tapping and that's a name that reflects an old pattern of working with the body,

Many small points moving together like stars forming a constellation.

Not one place doing all the work,

But the whole body finding balance through rhythm and care.

You don't need to believe anything for this to work,

Just allow yourself to be here.

Begin by placing one hand on your chest and one on your belly.

Feel the natural rise and fall of your breath.

No need to change it,

Just simply notice,

Notice the flow.

In ancient traditions,

The breath was seen as a bridge between the outer world and the inner one.

With each inhale,

You receive and with each exhale,

You soften.

Feel the support beneath you,

Notice where your body feels held and when you're ready,

Gently lower your hands.

Begin to just lightly tap one hand with the other,

Let the rhythm be easy and unforced like a quiet pulse.

Not too fast,

Not too slow.

You might tap along the palm,

The back of your hand,

Your wrist and forearm.

And when it feels right,

Switch sides.

In many ancient cultures,

Rhythm was a language the body understood long before words.

And as you tap,

You're not directing anything,

Simply offering the body a familiar pattern and allowing it to respond in its own way.

Notice the sensation here without needing to name it.

It might be warm,

Tingling,

Or maybe just very little at all.

All of it is welcome.

Good.

Let's allow the tapping now to move to your upper arms and shoulders.

Alternate sides or just follow your own intuitive flow.

You may gently tap across your chest and rib cage now,

Avoiding any areas that might feel sensitive.

This region has long been seen as a mating place,

Where breath,

Feeling and vitality cross paths.

It's a place that quietly holds much of what we carry,

So as you tap just imagine creating space.

Not by pushing anything away,

But just by allowing movement and breath to circulate a little more freely.

If it feels supportive,

Just let your breath soften and widen even more.

Wonderful.

Now,

When you're ready,

Bring the tapping to your abdomen.

Let's keep the touch gentle and respectful here.

This area has often been understood as the body's quiet centre,

A place of steadiness,

Nourishment and inner strength.

You might now reach around to tap your lower back and hips,

Areas that support us every day without asking for much attention.

There's no need to awaken or activate anything,

Just simply offer your presence,

Like tending a small steady flame that already knows how to glow.

Beautiful.

Now,

Guide your tapping down into your thighs,

Into your knees and into your calves and feet.

Just follow this pattern,

Tapping thighs,

Knees,

Calves and feet.

With each gentle tap,

Feel your body settling downwards,

Grounded,

Supported.

In ancient wisdom traditions,

Balance was never only about rising upward,

It was also about rooting deeply into the earth.

Sense the steadiness beneath you with this beautiful tapping rhythm.

The patience of the ground that carries you.

And if it feels right,

Just imagine releasing anything you no longer need to hold,

Letting go.

Now gently bring your hands back up to the top of your body around your neck and just gently tap here your neck,

Jaw and the sides of your head.

Just keep some very light pressure here.

This is an invitation to soften any mental tension,

To quiet the mind.

Just to let it rest.

When you're ready,

Simply return to your breath.

And allow the tapping to slowly come to a close.

Let your hands rest now and just notice your body as a whole.

The subtle shifts and the quiet hum of sensation.

So,

The idea of seven star reminds us that harmony often emerges from many small points working together.

Like the stars that are forming a pattern in the night sky,

The body finds its own order when given time,

Rhythm and gentle care.

There's nothing to understand,

Just be here.

Be here in this present moment.

So,

These practices have been passed down not because they promise transformation,

But because they help us remember what the body already knows.

And you can return to this rhythm whenever you need as a way of coming home to yourself.

So,

Let's just take one more unhurried breath in and a soft breath out.

And when you're ready,

Just gently invite movement back into your body.

Roll your shoulders if that feels good and gently stretch.

Carry this sense of warmth and ease with you.

Namaste,

My friend.
