Welcome to this guided meditation for healing and calmness.

I invite you to find a comfortable position,

Either seated or lying down.

Whatever's your practice,

Allow your eyes to gently close or lower your gaze if that feels better.

Just allow your breath to be your anchor,

Just as a river is anchored by its earthly banks.

Just inhaling softly,

Feeling the air expand through your chest and belly.

And as you exhale,

Allow a gentle wave of relaxation to flow through your body.

You are safe in this moment.

Invite your awareness to rest on the gentle flow of your breath,

Like that of a river.

Just imagine yourself beside a clear,

Peaceful river.

The sunlight is stapled and the water is moving in a rhythm,

Steady,

Calm.

As you breathe in,

Imagine this river drawing in light and freshness.

And as you breathe out,

Allow any tension or discomfort to drift away.

Carry gently downstream.

There is no hurry,

Nowhere else to be.

Imagining that,

Visualizing that river as you breathe in and out.

The gentleness,

The currents and flowing,

Releasing as it goes down.

Now we invite you to do a gentle body scan,

Noticing your feet,

How they ground you.

Just like the stones in the riverbed,

Allow them to soften.

Move your attention slowly up to your legs,

Hips and lower back.

Inviting calm into every muscle,

Every joint.

Allowing the current of your breath to sweep away any strain or anything that doesn't serve you.

And I invite you to bring awareness to your abdomen and chest.

Feeling the rise and fall of each breath.

Imagine the river's cool water soothing and healing.

Soothing and healing any aches,

Worries or heaviness.

There's space here.

Space to be just you,

To just be.

With each exhale,

Softening a little more.

Releasing what is needed,

Just as the river releases leaves upon its surface.

You can release whatever is not serving you.

Now notice your neck,

Jaw,

The muscles around your eyes and forehead.

Allow them to rest.

You do not need to hold on to anything right now.

Ram Dass reminds us that the quieter you become,

The more you can heal.

Let silence and stillness linger.

Allow your whole being to bathe in the ease of this moment.

When difficult feelings emerge,

Treat them like the stones in the river,

Part of the landscape.

Not something you need to hold on to.

Let your next breath be gentle.

Honoring exactly where you are in your healing journey.

There is no right or wrong.

Releasing all that doesn't serve you.

D I invite you to add small movements,

Small gentle movements back into your body.

Your fingers and toes.

I invite you to carry the river's calmness and healing with you throughout your day.
