Angelique Bulosan

Angelique Bulosan (she/they) is Filipino-Canadian, born and raised on Lekwungen Territory, Victoria, BC. She has practiced meditation since the early 2000s, exploring various forms and spending years within modern shamanism before committing to Insight meditation in 2017. She has been sharing meditation in community since 2018. Angelique is a trainee in the Mindfulness Meditation Teacher Certification Program founded by Jack Kornfield and Tara Brach. Angelique’s mindfulness practice became deeply rooted while caring for her father in the final six years of his life. A mindfulness course helped her meet caregiving challenges with greater steadiness. What began as a way of navigating a difficult time became a practice she continues to return to in all seasons of life. Her offerings are secular and accessible, drawing from her personal practice in the Theravada Buddhist tradition. Angelique is particularly drawn to Theravada teachings on the heart practices and living with integrity, which guide her practice and daily life. Her professional life focuses on social and racial justice, community building, and organizational culture change. She brings a trauma-aware approach to gathering people, and enjoys making mindfulness practical and relatable. She is a creative maker who designs prints, binds books, and tends orchids. She teaches mindfulness to share what helps her live more fully, and because teaching keeps her learning and growing alongside communities she cares about.
