Accepting and embracing change,
A guided meditation for life transitions due to illness or injury,
A guided meditation with Angelica Janic.
Dealing with a major illness can be an incredibly difficult and emotional experience.
It can feel overwhelming and all-consuming,
Leaving one feeling disconnected from themselves and the world around them.
During this challenging time,
Meditation can be a powerful tool to help individuals cope with the physical and emotional aspects of illness and promote healing.
To begin,
Find a comfortable and quiet place to sit or lie down.
Take your time.
If you need a pillow under your head or a blanket over the legs,
Ensuring that your phone is turned to silence.
Taking a few deep breaths,
Inhaling through your nose and exhaling through the mouth,
Allowing your body and mind to relax.
As you breathe,
Visualize a healing light surrounding your body.
As you continue to breathe deeply,
Focus your attention on specific areas in your body that are either numb,
Tense,
Or have a great amount of pain,
Allowing yourself to feel the sensations without judgment or resistance.
Simply observe and breathe,
Allowing yourself to be present in this moment.
Imagine yourself surrounded by a beautiful and serene landscape,
Such as a peaceful forest or a tranquil beach.
Visualize yourself walking through this landscape,
Feeling a sense of calm and relaxation washing over you with each step.
As you walk,
Imagine that you are being bathed in a healing light,
Filling your body with warmth and positive energy.
Feel this light radiating through your body,
Soothing any areas of discomfort or pain and promoting healing and well-being.
As you continue to walk,
Focus your attention on your breath.
Inhale deeply,
Feeling the air fill your lungs,
And exhale slowly,
Releasing any tension or negativity from your body and mind,
Repeating this cycle of deep breathing and relaxation,
Allowing yourself to be fully present in this moment.
As you continue to walk,
Imagine yourself surrounded by a supportive and loving community,
Such as friends,
Family,
Even healthcare professionals.
Visualize their love and support surrounding you,
Feeling a sense of gratitude for their presence in your life.
As you bask in the warmth and love of this community,
Reflect on your own strength and resilience.
Remember that you are capable of overcoming challenges,
And that you have the power to heal and transform yourself.
Visualize yourself surrounded by a bright and radiant light,
Representing your own inner strength and power.
As you continue to breathe deeply and visualize this inner strength,
Repeat the following affirmations within your mind.
I am strong and resilient,
And I have the power to heal.
I am surrounded by love and support,
And am grateful for the people in my life.
I am at peace with my body and mind,
And trust in the healing power of the universe.
Allow yourself to repeat these affirmations,
Feeling their positive energy resonating with you.
Know that you are not alone in your journey,
And that you have the love and support of the universe surrounding you.
I am strong and resilient,
And have the power to heal.
I am surrounded by love and support,
And am grateful for the people in my life.
I am at peace with my body and mind,
And trust in the healing power of the universe.
As you continue to breathe deeply and visualize this healing light,
Allow yourself to feel a sense of peace and relaxation.
Know that you are on the path to healing,
And that with each breath,
You are promoting physical and emotional well-being.
Dealing with a major illness can be a difficult and emotional experience,
But with the power of meditation and positive affirmations,
You could promote healing and well-being within yourself.
Maintaining this bright,
Positive light resonating from the heart center.
Taking a minute to set an intention for yourself,
Something to hold on to for the next week or maybe the next month.
Bringing your attention back toward your body,
Taking deep,
Counting breaths in through the nose,
Holding your breath,
Slow exhale,
Holding your breath,
And continue to breathe.
Breathe in this controlled way for a few more rounds.
If you need more time,
You're welcome to stay here for a few more minutes.
Otherwise,
When you are ready,
Take your time,
Wiggling your fingers and toes,
Before you're ready to slowly open your eyes,
Taking a few moments to reflect on your meditation.
Have you enjoyed this meditation?
