Hello and welcome to this morning meditation practice for speaking your mind.

Sometimes in life we may find ourselves stifling our own voice or agreeing with others in an attempt to avoid conflict or to please others.

Whilst in the short term this can feel good,

It's not an effective or healthy way to communicate and develop relationships.

In fact when we don't speak our truth it can cause internal resentment and distrust between two parties.

So today we will consider our own habits when it comes to vocalising ourselves and what we can do to maybe try and change some unhelpful patterns that we might have.

So when you're ready coming into your meditation position this can be whatever feels right for you and take a moment just to check in with yourself.

How are you feeling this morning?

And we'll begin now with three deep mindful breaths so breathing in and letting go and breathing in and letting go and last time breathing in and releasing Now I'd like you to consider what is stopping you from speaking your truth.

Imagine a person or situation where you may find it difficult to speak your mind and consider why that might be.

Perhaps you might be worried about a particular person's reaction.

I'd like you to feel that emotion that worry or anxiety of upsetting or displeasing someone and we'll take a deep breath and let it go.

I'd like you to now consider that scenario again but this time imagine yourself speaking your mind to that person or maybe it's a group of people and sit with the discomfort that you might feel in doing that.

Imagine their faces,

Their expressions,

Their possible reactions.

Know that this is okay.

How do you feel now having spoken your mind?

Perhaps you might feel a little scared or vulnerable.

Maybe you feel energized.

You might feel an openness.

Sit with this for the next few moments.

And we'll finish now with the resolve to speak our truth throughout the day,

To take this intention and this openness with us and finishing now with one deep mindful breath.

So breathing in and releasing.
