Here is my quick explanation why everyone can meditate even when you think you're overthinking your mind and your inner dialog won't allow a second of peace and quiet. Stop holding yourself back from the balance of body and mind. You, yes, even you can become a master meditator and finally take control of your life.

Hi,

So I wanted to talk to you guys a little bit about meditation today,

And I wanted to point out a few things where people may feel discouraged when trying to meditate and they think that because their mind is thinking about a million different things while they're trying to stay in the present moment with their meditation that they can't do it and that is false.

That is not true at all.

So what meditation is,

Is a practice.

So when you practice staying in the moment,

You get better at it,

Right?

Just like you practice sports or you practice running or,

You know,

If you want to run a marathon and if your heart rate starts getting all fast and crazy,

Right,

You're going to keep on pushing.

You're going to keep on doing it because you want to train for this marathon.

So if you want to be able to be more mindful in your everyday life,

If you're wanting to be more calm in your life,

If you're sick and you want just to be able to try to give your body some zen and just kind of help your nervous system stay in a healthy space,

Then you're going to want to stick with meditation.

So just like running a marathon,

Your heart rate starts pounding,

Heart rate starts pounding,

Just like meditation.

Your monkey mind starts going.

Monkey mind starts going.

So you're just going to recognize that your monkey mind is going and you're just going to bring it back to center.

Just like when you're running and your heart's pounding,

Your heart's pounding,

You might need a little break,

But you're going to keep on keeping on and you'll start to notice that you can run a further distance without your heart palpitations being so aggressive right away,

Right?

So with meditation,

You're going to notice that you can go longer amounts of time between your monkey mind taking off.

So just like you would practice anything,

You're going to practice meditation.

So don't give up on yourselves right away.

Don't,

Don't just quit.

You guys are so worth it and you're so worth being able to be in control of your own mind,

You know,

And not only are there short term effects of meditation that are really helpful from just being mindful to like help with anxiety or anger.

There's long term effects of meditation also that can actually change your brain.

It's called neuroplasticity.

So if you don't know what that is,

You could look it up or,

Um,

I might make another video about how your meditation practices can actually affect the brain and change your,

Um,

Amygdala and the brain waves and all of that.

But in this video,

I just really wanted to reassure you guys that having a monkey mind and experiencing all these thoughts is completely normal and you just need to train the muscles in your brain to recognize when your monkey mind is going and bring it back to center.

Sit,

Monkey mind,

Recognize,

Bring it back to center.

And as long as that takes you until you can go a longer period of time without the monkey mind going wild and you might be able to get it down pretty good.

You might be able to stay in your meditation for 30 minutes without a monkey mind and then one day you might have a lot of,

You know,

Racing thoughts,

Intrusive thoughts or your inner dialogues just like,

You know,

And everyone's got an off day and that's totally okay.

The whole point is you just don't give up on yourself because you're so worth it and you'll really start to see the changes if you stay consistent and the only way to prove it is for you to try it for yourself.

So once you start changing,

People around you are going to start noticing the change and they're going to want to change too.

So don't just do it for me.

Don't just do it for you.

Do it for the world because we can change the world one meditation at a time.

Anyway,

You guys,

I hope this resonated with some of you who have been struggling with meditation.

It's really okay.

Just don't give up on yourself.

You just have to keep trying.

Okay,

So commit to a daily practice and see what happens.

I hope you have a good night.
