This is Bethany Moore with Alchemy Studio.

My passion is helping clients self-heal through a variety of skills and tools gained through guided facilitation,

Somatic awareness,

Parts work,

And expressive arts-based practices.

The following guided visualization is called Safe Place.

So let's begin.

Find a comfortable position with your body sitting or laying down and begin by locating the center point of yourself,

That place for you that is core,

Foundation.

I'd like you to imagine a place,

A safe place,

A calm place,

A place free of stressors,

Completely peaceful,

Secure,

Joyous,

Whatever feelings you want to have there.

But essentially this is a place that calms you when you're feeling stressed or activated.

So take a moment to begin to visualize this place.

Begin to get all your senses on board.

What do you see?

Are there any smells?

Are there any sounds?

Can you reach out and touch anything?

Is there anything to taste?

Slow down and get as detailed into each of the senses as you can.

Notice your breath,

Your breathing.

Notice your body and how it feels to be in this place.

Notice how in this safe space you can let out your worries.

There are no duties,

Nothing to do but rest and relax and recuperate.

In times of need,

In times of stress,

Take just a couple of minutes to remember this place.

Utilize this place as a tool for self-regulation.

It's there for you to engage with whenever you need.

So check in with it throughout your day.

Feel into your senses,

Feel into how your body relaxes in that space and take as much time there as you can to support yourself.

Beautiful, a short practical distress tolerance exercise for visualization and 'my safe place' :)
