So welcome everyone and thank you for joining me.
So today we will explore one of the most misunderstood concepts in spirituality,
Karam or Karma.
Now when most people hear the word Karma,
They think of it as a simple give and take system.
Do good things,
Good things come back to you,
What goes around comes around.
If I just do enough good deeds,
I can control what happens to me and I will have a happy life possibly.
Now while there is some truth to this understanding,
It may be just a very small piece of the larger picture.
So based on my own experience,
I want to offer you a deeper and more expanded understanding of Karma,
One that might shift how you see the events of your life.
Now this understanding is open to everyone,
Regardless of your faith or belief systems.
You don't need to believe in past lives or reincarnation to find value in this perspective.
Simply approach it as a way of understanding why certain things in life feel completely out of our control,
Yet somehow purposeful.
In its deeper sense,
If I was to describe Karma,
It is inescapable destiny.
Inescapable destiny.
It's life happening to you in ways that your conscious mind will never fully understand.
Karma represents certain experiences,
People and circumstances that your soul will encounter in this lifetime for reasons that go far beyond your logical mind can understand.
This includes the family that you were born into,
The place and circumstances of your birth,
Certain people who come into your life at very specific times,
Chronic illnesses or health challenges,
Unexpected losses or traumas,
Opportunities that appear out of nowhere,
And challenges that seem to follow you despite your best efforts.
Now these events often happen regardless of how good you've been in your life or how many positive actions you've taken.
They are not rewards or punishments in the traditional sense.
They are soul appointments,
Experiences your deeper self has chosen for growth,
Understanding and completion.
Now this is where our limited understanding of Karma often creates suffering.
We think that if we just do enough good things,
We can prevent difficult experiences from happening to us and we believe we can earn our way out of a challenge and a pain.
But Karma operates on a much deeper level than our daily actions.
While our choices certainly matter and create consequences,
There are some experiences that no amount of good deeds can prevent because they are part of your soul's curriculum for this lifetime.
This doesn't mean we are powerless victims.
It means that while we can't control everything that happens to us,
We have complete control over how we respond to what happens.
And often in our response,
The real karmic learning takes place.
Think about events in your life that seem to come out of nowhere.
Things that were not a result of any particular action that you took.
Maybe meeting someone who completely changed your life direction.
An illness that appeared despite living healthily.
A job loss that led to an unexpected opportunity.
A relationship that ended despite your best efforts.
And moving to a place that felt like coming home for reasons you just cannot explain.
Now these are some experiences,
Examples,
That have roots in what we might call karmic exchange,
Soul level agreements,
Or necessities that exist beyond our conscious mind's understanding.
Now whether you believe in past lives or not,
Consider this possibility.
What if,
On some level,
Souls create and choose certain experiences for growth?
What if before I took birth,
I made contracts and agreements with other souls,
So we can help each other learn specific lessons?
This might sound far-fetched,
But it offers a profound way of understanding relationships and experiences that otherwise seem unfair or random.
Now the difficult parent who teaches you boundaries.
The partner,
The girlfriend,
The boyfriend who breaks your heart but opens you up to deeper love and self-love.
The illness that slows you down and teaches you presence.
The loss that deepens your compassion.
And the challenge that revealed the strength you didn't even know that you had.
From this perspective,
Everyone in life,
Especially those who trigger you the most,
Are playing their part in your soul's education,
Just as you are playing a part in theirs.
So instead of seeing karma as a punishment or reward,
What if we saw it as life's intelligence,
A cosmic curriculum designed to help souls evolve,
Understand and grow?
From this view now,
Nothing is random,
Even when it appears to be.
Everyone you meet has something either to teach you or to learn from you.
Challenges may not be obstacles,
But opportunities for growth.
And your response to events matters more than the events themselves as you may not fully control them.
Now this does not make difficult experiences pleasant,
But it can transform them from meaningless suffering into meaningful growth.
Now let's explore this concept in practice.
So as we settle into this reflection,
If you haven't done so already,
You can close your eyes now and just begin by bringing your attention to your breath.
Breathing in through your nose and out through your mouth.
Taking long,
Deep conscious breaths,
Settling into a space of open curiosity about your life's journey.
Now,
Our intention today is to explore our lives not as a series of random events,
But a carefully orchestrated soul curriculum.
Now you may want to put your right hand on your stomach and look.
And now,
If I was doing a life review right now,
Bring to mind major events,
Relationships,
Circumstances of your life and whatever comes up in whatever order is fine and see them not as coincidences,
But as appointments your soul made for learning and growth.
Who were the most significant people in your life?
What did they teach you,
Even if the lessons were difficult?
How did they help you grow or change direction?
And what would you not know about them,
About yourself,
Without having met them?
Let's reflect on this for a few seconds.
Now,
And now,
Think about the relationships that felt immediately significant.
People you felt you've known forever upon the first meeting,
Relationship with an intense attraction or repulsion,
Family dynamics that seemed to repeat patterns,
People who triggered strong reactions in you,
And relationships that ended but left a lasting impact on your life.
Let's consider the possibility now that these were karmic connections with souls you have agreed to learn with,
Regardless of whether the experience was pleasant or not.
Any changes,
Feelings,
Sensations in the body?
Just allow yourself.
You are just opening yourself up to a different way of reflecting.
Again,
You are expanding your awareness to see things differently.
Now,
Bring to mind some of your greatest challenges across your timeline.
Health issues,
Maybe,
That changed how you live,
Financial losses,
Failures,
Maybe,
That redirected your path,
Any traumas,
Or any other circumstances that were beyond your control.
And instead of asking,
Why did this happen to me?
Let's ask today,
What did this teach me that I couldn't have learned any other way?
Now,
For any challenge that you are aware of right now,
That came into your awareness today,
Just explore this.
How did this experience change you?
What strengths did it reveal or develop for you?
How did it deepen your compassion or understanding?
What would you not know about life without having experienced this?
And also,
How has this experience helped you understand others?
You are just noticing now,
How some of your greatest difficulties or karmic lessons may have led you to your most important growth or gifts.
Now,
Feel into the possibility that your life,
With all its joys,
With all its sorrows,
Successes and failures,
Is exactly the curriculum your soul chose for this lifetime,
For this incarnation.
And this doesn't mean that you have to like everything that has happened,
But it invites you to trust that there is a deeper intelligence at work in your life than your conscious mind can understand.
And now we bring this belief into the body,
Into the soul,
I trust that my life is unfolding according to a wisdom deeper than my understanding.
I may not know why certain things happen,
But I can trust they serve my soul's growth.
Also noticing how these words are received by your body and just allowing any changes to happen.
Now remember,
While you may not control what karmic experiences come to you,
You have complete choice in how you respond to them.
Now your response is where your free will lies,
Always.
Will you learn from this experience?
Or resist it?
Will you find meaning in suffering?
Or feel victimized by it?
Will you trust life's process?
Or will you fight against it?
Now often,
The karmic lesson is less about what happens and more about how you choose to respond.
Any given event that happens in your life,
There could be countless reasons that create that.
Your conscious mind may not fully understand why that is happening,
But on a soul level,
This is exactly how this event had to play out.
Something must have happened at another time in my soul's journey that I am experiencing this.
I am open to the possibility today that I may have had a part to play at some point in my soul's journey that I am having this experience.
None of this is personal.
I still have the free will of how I respond to this challenge,
To this karmic lesson and to this part of my life which is inescapable destiny.
With this understanding,
I feel gratitude for my soul's journey so far,
All of it,
Including the parts and the people you will never choose again.
To free yourself from them today completely,
Thank these people who have been your teachers,
Even difficult ones.
Thank the experiences that have shaped you,
Even the painful ones.
And thank your soul for having the courage to choose growth,
Even when it was uncomfortable.
Now as we close,
Remember,
You have to trust that a deeper intelligence is guiding your life's unfoldment in every moment.
Your conscious mind doesn't need to understand everything.
And you have to find peace in not knowing why certain things happen.
Now I can place one of my hands on my heart and feel the mystery and intelligence of my own life's journey.
You are not just surviving random events,
You are participating in a cosmic curriculum designed for your soul's evolution.
Every person that you meet,
Every experience that you have,
Every challenge that you face is part of this sacred education.
This doesn't make life any easier,
But it can make life more meaningful.
When you understand that you are not just trying to avoid pain,
But you are actually here to learn,
Grow,
Evolve,
Everything changes.
Your karma is not here to punish you,
It is your path.
And while you may not choose what happens to you in every moment,
You always choose what you become because of what happens to you.
Trust your journey,
Trust the process,
And trust that your soul knows what it's doing,
Even when your mind doesn't fully understand.
Now we take one last deep breath in,
And as we breathe out,
You can gently open your eyes,
Carrying this deeper understanding of karma with you.
Thank you very much for joining me,
And Namaste.
