So hi everyone,
And thank you for joining me today.
I invite you to take this time for yourself.
A time to let your body soften,
Your breath deepen,
And your nervous system remember its natural state of balance.
Now your nervous system has been your lifelong guardian.
It notices before you think.
It responds before you decide.
And it carries every memory of safety.
Sometimes it runs too fast.
Sometimes it becomes too still.
But it's always trying to protect you.
So today we are going to thank it,
And invite it back to harmony.
Just find a posture now where you feel supported.
Sitting or lying down.
Whichever feels most natural for you.
And once you have that position,
You can very gently either close your eyes,
Or allow your gaze to soften.
Now take a long slow breath in,
And exhale as if you are laying down a heavy weight.
And we'll do this again,
Inhaling space,
And exhaling release.
One more time.
Breathing in a gentle,
Welcoming,
And breathing out into this moment of rest.
Now start by noticing the ground beneath you.
The floor,
The chair,
The ground,
The mat.
Just notice what's beneath you now.
Now the earth has always held you,
Through your stress,
Through your joy,
Even through your ordinary days.
And it's even holding you now,
Without condition.
And as you notice that support right now,
Feel how your body responds.
As I'm noticing the ground beneath me,
My shoulders may begin to soften,
My breath is easing,
And my joy is loosening.
Your body is already listening.
Now,
Bring one hand to your heart,
And the other one to your belly.
And just feel the rhythm of your own life.
The steady heartbeat,
The rise and fall of the breath.
Just watch,
Listen,
Observe,
And feel the rhythm of your own life.
Now just very softly drop these words inwards.
Ask your body,
How is my nervous system right now?
How is my nervous system right now?
Is there restlessness?
Numbness?
Heaviness?
A sense of numbness?
Or maybe even calm?
Whatever arises,
Let it be simply what it is.
Your body never lies.
It does not judge.
It only reports.
So whatever arises now,
Let it be simply what it is.
Now as you breathe,
Once again whisper inwardly,
Thank you body for everything that you've carried.
Thank you for keeping me safe.
Thank you body for everything that you've carried.
Thank you for keeping me safe.
Now in this simple act of gratitude and listening,
Your system begins to soften.
Now healing does not always come through doing more,
But through listening more deeply.
Notice what you notice,
What you notice.
Now,
Let your attention move slowly through your body.
Let's begin at the shoulders now.
So how much they've held responsibilities,
Anxieties,
Expectations,
And memories.
So with each exhale,
Let them settle down like leaves drifting gently to the ground.
Just let your shoulders settle now as you exhale.
Now let's move slowly to the jaw.
The keeper of unspoken words and swallowed emotions.
Allow it to loosen now as though you're taking a breath of sigh in relief.
Just let your jaw drop,
Soften,
And relax simply by listening to it.
Anything that you notice,
Observe,
Sense,
Or see in the body,
Simply allow that to happen.
Now as the jaws soften and settle down,
I'm going to move into the belly and the hips.
Now these places often guard our most vulnerable truths.
Offer them permission.
You don't have to guard anything right now.
It is safe to soften.
You don't have to guard anything right now.
It is safe to soften.
Now if it feels right,
Add small movements.
You may want to roll your shoulders.
You may want to let your hands move.
You may want to sway your body gently if you feel guided to.
Now these micro movements tell your nervous system,
I am not trapped.
I have choice.
I am free to move again.
I am not trapped.
I have choice.
And I am free to move again.
And notice how these small movements can change the whole inner landscape.
Now from there,
Bring your awareness to the center of your chest.
And let's imagine a small flame there.
Steady,
Gentle,
Golden.
I can now sense,
See,
Feel or imagine a steady,
Golden,
Gentle flame in the center of my chest.
And this flame represents your natural rhythm.
It's not rushed.
It's not stagnant.
It's simply alive.
Now with each breath,
See this flame grow brighter,
Spreading warmth through your chest then down to your belly,
Then down to your legs,
Then down to your feet.
Then upwards from the chest into your throat,
Into your mind,
And then into the crown of your head.
Also feel now how this flame communicates the danger is over.
You are safe enough now to rest.
You are safe enough now to be.
The danger is over.
You are safe enough now to rest.
You are safe enough now to be.
Just pause here now and breathe into this flame and notice how your body responds to its warmth.
This is your inner heart,
The place where regulation lives.
Stress may pull you away,
But this flame never goes out.
You are only remembering it now.
Slowly,
Gently from here,
Bring your awareness to your spine.
Now the spine is the greatest pathway of your nervous system.
Imagine the flame's warmth traveling up and down the spine like gentle waves of light upwards through the back of your heart,
Back of your throat,
Back of your mind,
Downwards through your belly,
Hips and your legs.
Now each cycle of warmth up and down says it is safe to feel,
It is safe to release,
It is safe to rest.
It is safe to feel,
It is safe to release and it is safe to rest.
Notice how your breath follows this rhythm now.
Deeper,
Slower,
More spacious.
And now your body begins to find balance without any effort on your part.
Now this is the nervous system's wisdom.
When you stop forcing it,
It remembers its natural state.
Rest now in this beautiful spaciousness that you've created for yourself.
Any adjustments,
Movements,
Sensations in the body,
Just let them happen.
That's simply your nervous system,
Your body,
Coming back to alignment,
Coming back to neutral,
Coming back to its natural state.
Receiving my words or whispering them softly.
My body knows how to rest.
My body knows how to reset.
My nervous system is my ally.
I trust the wisdom within me.
And as you receive these words,
Imagine yourself now moving through tomorrow with this flame alive in you.
Perhaps the flame will remind you to take one deep breath before answering a message.
Perhaps it guides you to pause before saying yes when your body is saying no.
Perhaps it helps you to place a hand on your heart in the middle of a busy day or a difficult situation.
These are not practices,
They are signals.
Signals that say to the nervous system,
We are safe now and we can rest.
We are safe now and we can rest.
We are safe now and we can rest.
Take three final breaths together now.
Inhaling nourishment.
Exhaling release.
Inhaling calm.
Exhaling gratitude.
Inhaling life.
And exhaling into balance.
Now take all the time you need.
And when you're ready,
Gently bring your awareness back to the room.
Wiggle your fingers and toes.
Take your time.
And as and when you open your eyes,
Carry with you this knowing now that you can return to this reset anytime.
Thank you very much for joining me today.
Honoring the intelligence of your body,
The quiet wisdom of your nervous system,
And the truth that peace is never lost,
Only remembered.
Thank you very much and Namaste.
