Hello and a warm welcome to everyone joining today.

I'm delighted today to guide you through this deeply nourishing practice known as grounding.

And this session is designed to help you reconnect with your body and feel a sense of stability and calmness.

Now you may have heard of grounding before or you may be completely new to this practice.

Just know that whatever unfolds today is exactly what you need to experience.

Now just to explain grounding a little bit before we begin.

So grounding is a therapeutic technique that integrates body awareness with certain grounding exercises.

Now this involves a series of movements and mental focus that promote the alignment of your physical and emotional states.

And the idea is to anchor you firmly into the here and now.

Now this practice emphasizes the importance of the body's role,

The role of somatics in emotional health and well-being.

And it encourages us to deepen our own mind-body connection.

And at its core,

In very simple terms,

Grounding is just about presence.

It's the process of bringing your full attention to the present moment and utilizing the body as a tool.

Now once again in very simple terms,

Grounding is the process of bringing your full attention to the present moment,

Utilizing the body as a tool.

Some benefits of this practice,

Some benefits of grounding.

Now this can help you center your thoughts.

This can help bring a feeling of calm and safety to the system.

It can help you dissipate stress.

It can help you improve sleep.

And just overall bring vitality into the system.

Now as we move into this practice,

I'm just going to invite you to find a quiet,

Comfortable place where you can sit,

Lie down or even stand.

If that's what's comfortable for you.

And as we begin now,

Just allow yourself to be fully here in your body and ready to explore,

Ready to engage with this experience.

This time is for you,

For self-care.

So make the most of it.

Just allowing your body to come back to its center where peace and stability reside.

Now if you feel comfortable,

Then maybe gently close your eyes.

Now I'm in a comfortable position.

I'm either sitting up,

Standing or lying down.

I've gently closed my eyes.

And I now simply begin by focusing on my breathing.

Now we don't force this process.

We just allow it to unfold.

I begin by focusing on my breathing.

Whatever that looks like for you.

Now for some people,

This can look like inhaling slowly through your nose and allowing your chest and belly to expand.

And then I exhale slowly through the mouth.

Maybe feeling a sense of release with every breath.

And I invite you to do this again.

Inhale slowly through your nose,

Allowing your chest and belly to expand.

And exhale slowly through your mouth.

Feeling a sense of calm and release with every breath.

Now just letting my words guide you as you continue to breathe with your eyes closed.

Now we are using our breath to drop deeper into our bodies.

I'll invite you now just to feel the weight of your physical body on the chair,

On the ground or on the hard surface.

I allow myself now to feel the weight of my body against the hard surface,

The ground,

The chair.

And as I say these words,

You may feel that your body starts to feel a little bit more heavy,

A little bit more relaxed.

And every breath that you take now,

You start to feel heavy and relaxed.

Heavy and relaxed.

Heavy and relaxed.

Now as I'm dropping into my body here,

I'm also going to feel maybe the texture of my clothing against my skin.

With intention,

I'm going to activate my senses,

Listening maybe to any subtle sounds that are around me.

The sound of my voice.

The sound of silence.

Feeling more and more and more and more relaxed now.

Now as I feel more relaxed,

As I feel my body become heavier,

I also start to disengage with my thoughts.

They may still come up,

But I'm choosing not to respond.

I'm not asking my thoughts to go.

I'm just not engaging.

Now from this state,

I will now begin my grounding practice.

I'm going to take all my attention now to the soles of my feet.

All my attention now to the soles of my feet.

All my attention now is at the soles of my feet.

Now here,

I'm going to visualize,

I'm going to imagine,

I'm going to sense whatever your process is.

Roots of light,

Any color,

Growing now from the soles of your feet and extending down into Mother Earth,

Into Gaia.

Now,

Every breath that I take,

These roots go deeper and deeper and deeper into the ground.

It's like something is pulling me down to Earth.

Something is pulling me down into my body and these roots of light from the soles of my feet are now going deeper and deeper and deeper.

Anything that I sense,

Anything that I see,

Anything that's coming up for me is exactly what I need to see,

Sense or feel.

Allowing myself to ground any energy,

Any attention that I have with my mind,

With my thoughts,

Is now being pulled down into my body,

Into my feet and then extending down to Mother Earth.

Now let's do this for a few seconds.

As you breathe,

You bring this light,

This energy down,

Down,

Down,

Down,

Down into your body,

Down into your feet and then further down into Earth.

Every breath that I take,

This light goes deeper and deeper and deeper into the floor,

Into Earth,

Into the ground.

And I feel stronger,

Calmer and I feel heavy in my feet.

Just allow this process now,

The grounding to happen.

Now at this stage,

As your body is grounding in its own time,

Let's also now shift our focus to any other area of your body where you're holding tension.

Now if there is any tightness anywhere in your body,

Maybe your neck,

Your shoulders,

Your lower back or somewhere else,

Just imagine directing your breath into these areas.

So I'm inhaling this light through my breath into these areas of tension.

And as I exhale,

The tension,

The resistance is dissolving and flowing out through my feet into Earth.

As I bring this light down which is grounding me,

Any tension,

Any areas of resistance,

Tightness are dissolving and flowing out of my body through my feet into Earth.

Let it all pass through you,

Through your body,

Through your feet and down into the ground.

Now,

Just checking in with my emotions.

Are there any emotions that are overwhelming me today?

And as I inhale this light,

As I'm grounding myself,

Imagine each inhale drawing calmness.

Calmness and stability.

Calmness and stability.

Calmness and stability.

And every breath out,

I just gently release these emotions again through my roots,

Letting these heavy emotions dissipate into the ground.

So not only am I physically relaxed,

I also emotionally feel lighter,

Calmer.

And anything,

Any resistance,

Any heavy emotions,

Any physical pain,

It's all being washed away.

I'm breathing in this beautiful light,

This calmness,

This stability,

Flows all the way down into my body,

Dissipating any and all tension through my feet down into the ground.

And I can feel it.

I feel more stable.

I feel more grounded.

And I feel this sense of calm now.

It's like I have more attention in my body now.

And if you feel drawn to continuing this practice,

You can maybe pause the meditation here and take a few more breaths.

And take a few more breaths for as long as you'd like to continue the grounding practice.

As we gently now begin to bring our attention back to the room.

My attention is now at the top of my head.

Top of my head,

Then my forehead,

My eyes,

My nose,

Mouth,

My jaw,

My throat,

Shoulders,

Arms,

Forearms,

Hands,

Stomach,

Abdomen,

Legs,

Calves,

Feet.

Before we come out of this,

I will once again imagine these roots of light,

They are at the soles of my feet and they are going deep and deep and deep into Mother Earth,

To Gaia.

So I choose to bring this state of grounding with me.

Now just take a moment right now to notice how your body and your mind feel now compared to when you started.

What did you bring in today with this practice?

What did you let go of in this practice?

What did you let go of in this practice?

And what insights,

If any,

Came to you?

Just take a moment to reflect before we come back.

Now you can take your attention to the back of your eyes.

Open your eyes and in your own time,

Whenever you feel ready,

Gently open your eyes and maybe just take in your surroundings.

How do I feel?

How does my body feel?

Perfect.

So thank you for taking this time to ground yourself with me today.

And remember,

Grounding can be a daily practice.

Anytime you feel overwhelmed,

Anytime you feel out of alignment,

You can bring yourself back to grounding.

Now feel free to return to this meditation anytime you need a grounding moment.

Thank you everyone for joining.

Namaste.
