If you constantly feel like there is always one more thing to do, one more goal to achieve, as if your mind is one big to-do list… this meditation is for you. Together, we will let the tasks and goals fade away for a few moments and focus on finding peace, stillness, and rest.

Begin with a deep breath in and exhale,

Softly settling into the space around you and finding a position that's comfortable,

Maybe seated or lying down,

Whatever feels best.

And just let yourself be in this moment.

Notice your breath as it is and with each breath,

Feel the tension release from your body and let yourself settle just a bit more.

As you continue to relax into your space,

Gently begin lengthening your inhales and exhales and softly let your eyes fall closed if that feels okay.

Take a deep breath in and exhale,

Feeling any lingering tension fade away.

Another deep breath in and exhale,

Settling more.

I know it can feel like you always have one more thing to do,

One more goal to achieve,

But it's okay to give yourself time to rest too because your worth does not depend on what you produce or what you can provide to others.

It is not a reward you give yourself for achieving other goals.

You are worthy of rest simply because you are you.

When we are used to constantly moving,

It can be difficult to stop and find stillness,

To rest.

As you drop further into yourself in this moment,

Picture in your mind a screen and each item on your to-do list,

Each goal you are striving for,

Is a separate tab on that screen.

Can you see them?

Now slowly begin to click out of each tab,

Maybe acknowledging the presence of the tab,

But choosing to swipe it off the screen.

When you're done and all your tabs are gone,

Simply return your attention to your breath.

Inhale and exhale,

Settling into this sense of peace and stillness.

If your mind begins to wander,

Simply guide your attention back to your breath.

You are exactly where you need to be right now,

And this time is for you.

Brianna Wiest writes,

Real growth is not always forward motion.

Growth is also staying still.

Growth is deep rest.

Growth is stopping to reconsider where you're headed before you arrive there.

Growth is letting yourself settle.

It's letting yourself blossom.

Growth is letting yourself see how much good is already in your life before you hunger for more.

Growth is processing.

Growth is allowing yourself to be where you are while you're still there.

As we approach the end of our practice,

Notice the subtle shift within you.

Is there anything you can whisper to your own heart in this moment?

When you're ready,

Start to come back into your body,

Maybe wiggling your fingers and toes.

Begin to notice the sounds around you and gently land back into the space you're currently occupying.

Take a deep breath in and exhale,

Blinking open your eyes if they were closed.

And finish with one more deep breath in and exhale,

Sending you so much love and light.
