Take a deep breath in and exhale.
Allow yourself to settle into this moment and the space around you.
And as you find a comfortable position,
Shift your attention to your breath in and out.
With each breath,
Feel your body soften.
Release the tension in your jaw,
Relax the space between your eyebrows,
Drop your shoulders down away from your ears,
And place your hands wherever feels best.
And just continue to breathe and settle.
Phases and feelings of loneliness are normal,
No matter how happy and loved we may be or know we are in our day-to-day lives.
Maybe it's the time of year.
Maybe it's finding yourself single and surrounded by others who have found romantic love.
Maybe it's feeling left out of something.
Can you breathe into this feeling of loneliness?
Breathe through it.
Inhale and exhale.
Take a moment and linger here.
What is at the root of this feeling for you?
Whatever the reason,
Know that you are not alone.
You are not alone in this feeling,
In this moment.
Find comfort and strength in knowing that others feel this way too.
You are not alone,
My friend.
I am here with you.
Brianna Wiest writes,
Loneliness is just an idea.
It is the implication that you are ever disconnected from those around you.
To the extent that we are aware that we are separate beings is how lonely we can ever be.
Essentially,
You are only as alone as you think you are.
What does your heart need to hear in this moment?
Whisper it to yourself now.
When you're ready,
Return to your breath.
Feel the air fill your lungs as you breathe in and exhale,
Arriving back in your body.
Gently begin to wiggle your fingers and toes.
Maybe roll your shoulders and neck.
Take a deep breath in and exhale.
Blinking open your eyes if they were closed.
You are not alone,
My friend.
I am here with you.
