Welcome to this meditation.
Let's just take a moment and calm our minds,
Calm our emotions,
And to focus on something a little bit different.
I've noticed that it helps sometimes to light a candle.
And it gives us something to focus on.
It gives us something to change our perspective.
Every time that we meditate,
We should focus on something other than our thoughts and our feelings.
Many times we start with our breath.
We breathe in through our diaphragm,
Letting it fill our abdomen first,
And then expanding up to our chest,
And then out through our mouth.
We do this in square breathing,
So as we breathe in through our nose,
We hold.
We breathe out through our mouth,
And then we hold.
Each time we breathe out,
Releasing any thoughts,
Any tension that might be coming our way.
The idea is to possibly focus on something else,
Maybe the flame of the candle,
Maybe the sound of my voice,
Maybe anything that comes your way.
Just notice it for what it is.
Meeting it as though it is a new thought or a new feeling.
Any attachment to anything else that might exist.
As you continue to breathe,
Notice how you feel more relaxed.
Notice how you become more in line,
More in harmony with the state of being that you choose to be.
Allowing your breath to match whatever pace it is that is right for you.
There's a concept that has come up in discussions,
And it's about the light that is within.
The answers that are within.
There's an old Hindu proverb that talks about the gods.
Brahma had made man divine,
But man had created all sorts of havoc with his abilities.
And so they decided to take away the divinity from man and to hide it.
And at first they thought that they would hide it in the grounds of the god suggested burying it in a far off place.
And Brahma just mentioned,
No,
With man's curiosity,
They will search the world,
They will dig for treasures,
And they will find this divinity.
Again,
Leading to the problems that started the whole thing in the first place.
And yet another person said,
Well,
Let's drop it into the deepest part of the ocean.
There,
Surely man will never find it.
But all the gods agreed that one day man would have the ability to go deep within the oceans.
And there they would find it.
And they thought,
What if we put it on the highest mountain?
Surely man would not be able to find it there.
And yet Brahma again said,
No.
Surely man would explore every peak in every valley on earth,
Eventually leading him to the tallest mountain and the ability to find it there.
And one of the gods spoke up and said,
I have an idea.
What if we hide the divinity of man deep within themselves?
They are so busy looking externally,
Climbing every mountain,
Diving in every ocean,
That they would never find it there.
And they all agreed that that was a wonderful plan.
And that is where we are today.
It's a wonderful proverb.
It leads us to the concept that that light,
That spark that is within us is our true divinity.
It's what makes us special.
And it is beautiful.
And every one of us has it.
It is alive.
It is bright.
And that spark is there.
But the problem is that sometimes people are not looking at that spark.
They're not looking at that light.
And when they don't see it,
It's just like an object blocking a light.
It casts a shadow,
Just like this beautiful living plant behind me is casting a shadow from the candle on the wall.
So whenever we block the light,
We cast a shadow.
We create darkness.
Continue to breathe,
My friends.
Continue to focus and to start asking yourselves the questions.
What is it that I need in this world?
Is it anything?
And ask yourself the question,
What if you are complete and whole just as you are?
What would your life be like?
You are worthy of the most abundant treasures.
There's nothing separating you from anyone else in this world except the belief that you can do it and possibly a little knowledge and resources.
All of that can come to you in time.
If you have clarity on what it is that will inspire you on the darkest days,
What will get you out of bed when you're feeling tired or sore,
What will give you energy when everything around you is draining.
You have that within you.
It's that spark.
It's that light.
I hope that you meditate and take a moment to find silence.
Focusing on your breath with the simple goal of quieting the chaos,
Quieting the thoughts,
Quieting the feelings,
And just listening for the possibility of what might be.
Continue on this meditation and continue your breathing as long as it brings you reward,
As long as it helps quiet those thoughts,
Quiet those feelings.
And notice how much better you feel as time goes on.
As you let go,
You will feel better.
And the more that you release,
The more power you will gain.
My name is Steve Fisher,
And I do wish you the most amazing life,
The best life.
