Yoga for Cholesterol [Copied]
With Mitalee Jain
This yoga therapy practice is offered as a supportive sadhana for those experiencing imbalance related to elevated cholesterol. In the yogic understanding, healing arises through a holistic approach, and therefore this practice is to be undertaken in harmony with appropriate ahara (nutrition and diet), vihara (lifestyle), and medical guidance. Yoga alone is not intended as a cure. Practitioners are advised to continue any prescribed medications and not to alter or discontinue them without the guidance of a qualified medical practitioner.
The intention of this practice is to support the body’s natural healing intelligence by helping to release stagnation and blockages in the prana channels (nadis), while gently encouraging balance in the system. The practices are aimed at creating a sense of rest, ease, and comfort in the parasympathetic nervous system, which plays an important role in overall metabolic and cardiovascular well-being.
Each class will include a gentle and accessible combination of light movements, asana, pranayama, meditation, and/or shavasana, allowing the body and mind to move toward a state of relaxation, regulation, and awareness. The emphasis is on consistency, safety, and compassionate self-care rather than force or intensity.
