War Anxiety
With Ana Mael
Trauma-Informed Support for Collective Fear and Uncertainty
When war dominates the news, when global instability feels constant, and when the nervous system cannot tell the difference between threat on a screen and threat at the door, anxiety becomes embodied.
This live event is for anyone living with heightened fear, tension, or exhaustion in response to global conflict — whether through direct experience or ongoing exposure to uncertainty.
Ana brings a rare combination of lived war experience, clinical trauma training, and somatic therapeutic practice.
She does not speak about war anxiety from theory alone — she speaks from lived survival and years of professional work with trauma in the body.
Ana is the founder of the Somatic Trauma Recovery Center and human rights activist who has dedicated her career to supporting survivors of genocide, war, and forced displacement in reclaiming their identity, dignity, and self-trust. Alongside her clinical work, Ana teaches human rights activists and advocates how to build sustainable resilience, regulate their nervous systems, and remain embodied in long-term justice work.

Why This Session Matters Now
Many people today are living with anticipatory trauma — a state where the body prepares for catastrophe even when it has not yet arrived.
Ana understands this state intimately.
She lived through war.
She lived through displacement.
And she has spent years helping others move from survival into regulation.
This session is not about fear-based thinking or spiritual bypassing.
It is about meeting fear with skill, compassion, and embodied presence.
