Gentle Morning Movement: Wake Up with Breath and Simple Yoga
With Kate Plummer
Accessible breath-led movement to reduce stiffness and build steady morning energy.
This is not a studio-style yoga class. There are no complicated sequences, fast transitions, or expectations about flexibility or fitness.
Like its companion live session For Tired Bodies: Move Gently and Exhale, this class uses simple, functional movements guided by the breath to help the body organise itself naturally.
You can practise seated, lying down, or in whatever way feels accessible on the day.
The aim is not to push the body awake, but to wake the system gradually.
We use slow, adaptable movements to:
• ease morning stiffness
• improve circulation and mobility
• build calm, usable energy
• support focus without overstimulation
This approach comes from the Viniyoga tradition, where movement follows breath and practices are adapted to the individual rather than performed to a fixed ideal.
Suitable if you:
• feel stiff or heavy when you wake
• have low energy or sensitive joints
• find typical yoga classes too strong or too fast
• want something practical and sustainable
No prior yoga experience is needed. You are welcome exactly as you are.
This session pairs with the evening live class For Tired Bodies: Move Gently and Exhale, creating a simple rhythm: gently wake the system in the morning, and help it settle again later in the day.
