Cultivating Loving-kindness and Compassion: Medicine for Turbulent Times (Half-day retreat: Part 1)
With Hugh Byrne
The Buddhist practices of loving-kindness and compassion provide powerful supports as we open to all that is arising in our minds and hearts. Through these practices we develop the capacity to act to alleviate suffering--our own and that of others and all beings. Through talks and guided meditations, supported by stories, poetry, and sharing, we cultivate the compassion, resilience, and courage to support ourselves and each other in these troubled times.
This half-day retreat is divided into two parts (for technical reasons: 12-2pm and 2:30 to 4:30 eastern) and participants are encouraged, if possible, to attend both parts. If this is not possible, you can attend either the first or second session, which cover different areas and themes. A donation of US$20-25 is suggested for each session--no one will be turned away and all are welcome regardless of ability to donate.
