Everyday Paradoxes CH12 : The Freedom of Being Understood by Yourself
With Leslie DMello
On inner validation, self-compassion, and the quiet end of proving
Many of us spend years trying to be understood — explaining our intentions, justifying our choices, softening our truth so it lands well with others. Over time, that effort can become exhausting, and we can lose touch with something essential: our own understanding of ourselves.
In this reflective session, inspired by Chapter 12 of the book Everyday Paradoxes : Tiny Truths About Becoming, we’ll explore what happens when you stop outsourcing your sense of worth and clarity to other people’s perceptions. Through gentle teaching, relatable examples, journaling prompts, and a deeply immersive guided meditation, we’ll look at inner validation, self-compassion, and the freedom that comes when you no longer feel the need to constantly explain or prove who you are.
This is an invitation to rest in your own knowing, to let your understanding be enough, and to discover the quiet peace that arrives when you stop trying to be seen from the outside and begin standing kindly with yourself from within.
Come exactly as you are. Nothing needs to be explained to belong.
