Anger: The Rage Beneath The Wound
With Allonia Water
Beneath the mother wound is anger. Rage, even. And many of us have spent our whole lives suppressing it because "good daughters" don't get angry at their mothers. But your anger is sacred. It's information. It's protection. It says: "What happened to me wasn't okay. I deserved better." In this circle, we give ourselves permission to feel the anger we've been told we shouldn't have. We name what wasn't okay. We write rage letters we'll never send. We let the fury move through us instead of eating us alive. You can love your mother and still be furious. Both can be true. Bring your journal and your rage. It's welcome here. This is not a "nice" circle. This is truth-telling. Homework: Move the anger through your body this week. Scream in your car. Hit a pillow. Rip paper. Shake. Let the rage move.
