Yoga For Cholesterol (Series 1 & 2) [Copied]
With Mitalee Jain
This yoga therapy practice was born from personal experience. Like many of you, I've navigated the challenge of elevated cholesterol firsthand; and through a combination of dedicated asana practice, mindful eating, and guidance from an Ayurvedic physician, I've seen meaningful results over time (reduction of approximately 60–70 points in my overall cholesterol levels). That journey gave me the heart to share this practice with others.
Yoga is not a cure, and I encourage you to continue any prescribed medications and always consult your doctor before making any changes to your treatment.
The intention of this practice is to support the body’s natural healing intelligence by helping to release stagnation and blockages in the prana channels (nadis), while gently encouraging balance in the system. The practices are aimed at creating a sense of rest, ease, and comfort in the parasympathetic nervous system, which plays an important role in overall metabolic and cardiovascular well-being.
Each class will include a gentle and accessible combination of light movements, asana, pranayama, meditation, and/or shavasana, allowing the body and mind to move toward a state of relaxation, regulation, and awareness. The emphasis is on consistency, safety, and compassionate self-care rather than force or intensity.
****A little note on how this practice is structured; today's session is divided into two parts. The first 30 minutes is Series 1, which is where everyone begins. The second 40 minutes is Series 2, and that's intended for those who have been showing up for Series 1 regularly for about a month. If you're newer to this practice, simply stay with Series 1 for now, and when the time feels right, Series 2 will be here waiting for you. Trust the process, there's no hurry.
