Slow and Steady Unfold: Returning to Yoga with Intention [Copied]

With Maryam

Join me for a gentle, inclusive live session designed for anyone navigating a return to the mat. You may know that a couple of months ago, I broke my ankle, and the journey of recovery has been a profound lesson in patience and adaptation. As I transition back to my own practice, I am inviting you to join me in moving slowly, safely, and with deep intention. In these 30–45 minute sessions, we remain mostly seated, focusing on nourishing the body through mindful stretching, restorative breath-work, and grounding meditation. We prioritize spinal health and joint mobility without the pressure of a high-impact flow. This class is a universal space to honour where you are right now. It serves as a morning start for the Americas, a midday reset for Europe and Africa, a sunset transition for Asia, and a peaceful wind-down for Australia. Whether you are recovering from an injury, like me, navigating a long break, or simply seeking a more intentional pace, this practice offers a soft landing. Let’s rediscover the foundations of movement and the power of stillness together, one breath at a time. What You’ll Need (Props) To make this practice as supportive as possible, I recommend having the following nearby: A sturdy chair (if you prefer not to sit on the floor). A yoga block or a thick book to bring the floor to you. A cushion or folded blanket for extra comfort while seated. A strap or a long towel to assist with gentle stretching. A bolster or pillows for our final grounding meditation. If you don't have any of these please don't worry, you will be fine without them. See you soon!
