This 70 minute meditative Hatha Yoga class is rooted in the classical Sivananda sequence and begins with a short opening Savasana and three OMs to settle the body and mind. We then move into gentle Surya Namaskars and simple single- and double-leg raises to warm up, followed by the 12 foundational Sivananda asanas, held mindfully to support strength, flexibility, spinal health, and inner awareness. The pace is steady, quiet, and inward-focused rather than fast or dynamic. As the sequence includes classical inversions such as Headstand, this class is best suited for practitioners with some prior yoga experience. The session concludes with a deep relaxation in Savasana and a short closing prayer, leaving you grounded, calm, and refreshed. For comfort and safety, the practice is recommended on an empty stomach or at least 2½ hours after a meal.
