Yin Yoga with Myofascial Release using a Ball
With The Relaxationist
This Yin Yoga practice is designed to support deep release through a combination of long-held, floor-based postures and gentle myofascial release techniques. By moving slowly and intentionally, we invite the body to soften areas of habitual tension while creating space for ease and circulation. Myofascial release works with the connective tissue that surrounds muscles and organs, helping to hydrate tissues, improve mobility, and reduce holding patterns. Paired with Yin Yoga’s extended stillness, this practice encourages the nervous system to settle and allows release to happen without force. You’ll be guided to explore sensation with curiosity, pausing often to listen and respond to your body’s needs. This class is ideal if you’re feeling tight, restricted, or simply craving a deeper sense of freedom and relief, while remaining grounded in rest and awareness. Props: Please gather a yoga ball for myofascial release (such as a massage ball or tennis ball), along with a bolster, blocks, and flat blankets for support. If you don’t have yoga props, pillows, towels, and household items can be used creatively.
