Hayahay: Honoring the Head — A Filipino Meditative Ritual with Gabaybayin Divination a Message from your Spirit Guides

With Kimberly Macatangay

This upcoming Hayahay session centers on the soul vessel of the Head — the sacred seat of thought, vision, and ancestral connection. In Filipino animist understanding, the Head is more than the mind; it is the dwelling place of awareness, memory, and divine guidance. Through this ritual, we honor the Head as a vessel of light and wisdom. We will release stored mental tension, looping thoughts, and energetic heaviness — allowing the mind to soften and the spirit to open. This practice is an invitation to restore clarity, humility, and alignment with your inner truth. Rooted in the Filipino contemplative tradition of pagninilay — turning inward and coming home to oneself — Hayahay weaves together breath, chanting, and body anointing as acts of sacred remembrance. Together, we will chant: 🌬 Ha – the breath of life that awakens presence 💛 Ya – the soul’s embrace, holding all that we are with compassion 🌞 Hay – our connection to light and the greater Source This ritual focuses on pagninilay sa ulo (contemplation through the head), allowing reflection to move beyond thought — into embodied reverence and energetic release. At the close of the session, you are invited to receive a Gabaybayin Divination, a gentle message of guidance drawn through Baybayin symbols — an offering from your guides and inner knowing, to affirm the insights that arise from your practice. 🌿 What to Bring: • A small amount of body oil (preferably coconut oil) for anointing the head • Optional incense or candle for honoring • Comfortable clothing and a quiet, undisturbed space ✨ What You’ll Receive: • Release of mental strain, overactivity, and fatigue • Renewed clarity, calm, and receptivity to guidance • A deeper connection to your Head as a vessel of wisdom and light • Optional Gabaybayin divination message at closing 🌀 Why This Matters: “Hayahay” means to exhale, soften, and rest into life. This ritual honors kapwa — our shared inner self — and invites you to find peace in the breath, spaciousness in the mind, and communion with ancestral wisdom. 🌺 Who This Is For: Anyone who feels called to release mental heaviness, reconnect with intuition, and realign the mind with the heart. No prior meditation or ritual experience is required — only openness and presence. 🔗 How to Join: Join the session a few minutes early, prepare your oil and sacred space, and allow yourself to arrive fully — breathing, softening, and receiving the ease of Hayahay.
