The Ordinary Moment as Portal
With Jocelyn Bates
In this live session, we’ll explore how ordinary moments can become portals back to ourselves.
Through a few short readings from The Midnight Carnival, gentle sensory awareness, and a guided practice of noticing, we’ll slow down enough to feel what is often missed: the sound in the room, the movement of air, the textures of everyday life, and the quiet ways the world speaks when we stop rushing past it.
This is a live practice in presence, imagination, and returning through the senses.
Come if you’ve been feeling overstimulated, disconnected, creatively dry, or simply hungry for a softer way back into your own life.
You may want to have a journal or a piece of paper nearby to catch anything that lingers afterward — a thought, an image, a memory, a sentence.
