Bodhicitta Intention
With Olivia Jackson
A defining quality of Tibetan Buddhism is what we call Bodhicitta intention. In Buddhist terms this is the awakened heart-mind which combines profound wisdom with limitless compassion to attain Buddhahood, for the benefit of all sentient beings.
In more personal, relative terms this might look something like “I am meditating and engaging in spiritual practice not only to heal and transform myself, but also for the sake of those around me. If I can heal myself I can more easily bring goodness to the world and all those that I may come into contact with.”
If we begin to introduce this kind of intention into our practice it can really bring our meditation to life, encourage a more steady daily practice, help us to feel more connected and cultivate a more o[pen-hearted approach to life.
In this live discussion and meditation we will explore what this might look like for each of us in our own personal lives and how it feels in practice.
